Pakistani Actor Zahid Ahmed Criticizes Instagram’s Censorship Policy After Post on Palestine Deleted

Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed expressed his frustration with Instagram’s censorship policy after his post in solidarity with Palestine was deleted without prior warning. Zahid took to social media to convey his disappointment, revealing how supporters are being prevented from expressing solidarity with Gaza, and he criticized the infringement on their right to freedom of expression.

Following the removal of his post, Zahid posted again, stating, “Never thought I would witness it myself but Instagram has removed my last post about the faces of [Benjamin] Netanyahu, Rishi Sunak, and [Joe] Biden being the real terrorists.” He directed strong words towards those managing the app, saying, “To hell with you Instagram. Will love to see you burn in hell on judgment day.”

Despite the potential decline in fan following, Zahid’s fans showed overwhelming support for his stance, appreciating his courage in presenting his point of view. Interestingly, his post on Facebook remains untouched, indicating his disagreement with the leaders of the Western world.

This incident follows a similar situation involving actress Mahira Khan, who was shadow-banned by Instagram, and numerous pages expressing solidarity with Palestine were being blocked on the platform.

Conflict Between Israel And Hamas Engulfs Gaza Amid US Efforts To Protect Civilian Lives

Meanwhile, the United States expressed a divergence in opinion with Israel regarding the pace of de-escalation in the Gaza conflict. President Biden’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, visited Israel, urging a shift from broad military actions to targeted operations against Hamas. However, there’s uncertainty about the timing of this transition, as it’s a topic of intense discussion between the U.S. and Israel.

While the U.S. proposed a transition within about three weeks, Sullivan didn’t confirm a specific timeline. Israel, on the other hand, publicly declared its intent to continue the conflict until achieving victory over Hamas, despite warnings from aid organizations about a looming humanitarian crisis.
